Our Commitment to Sustainability
Every surface we repair is a surface that does not need to be replaced. This is the foundation of our sustainability commitment — and it is built into everything we do.
Repair vs Replacement — The Environmental Case
Manufacturing a new bath requires raw material extraction, energy-intensive production, transportation and eventually disposal. A bath chip repair requires a few grams of resin compound and a technician’s skill. The environmental difference is significant.
The same logic applies to every surface we repair. A granite worktop that would otherwise be landfilled is instead restored and kept in use. A cast iron bath that would require significant energy to smelt and recast is instead repaired and given another generation of life.
Embodied Carbon
Embodied carbon — the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing and installing materials — is increasingly recognised as a critical component of a building’s overall carbon footprint. Every repair we carry out reduces the demand for new materials and the embodied carbon associated with them.
Waste Reduction
We use minimal materials in our repairs — precise quantities of professional-grade compounds applied with skill. We do not generate construction waste, packaging waste or disposal costs.
Longevity
We use professional-grade materials designed to last. A quality repair, properly maintained, extends the life of the surface significantly. We would rather do one repair that lasts ten years than three repairs that each last three.
