A roll-top bath is a statement piece — expensive to buy, expensive to plumb in, and expensive to remove and replace. When a roll-top bath chips or its surface deteriorates, professional repair or resurfacing is almost always the right answer.

Types of Roll-Top Bath

Cast iron roll-top baths — the original and most desirable. Enamel-coated cast iron that, properly maintained, lasts a lifetime. Enamel chip repair and full resurfacing are both possible.
Acrylic roll-top baths — modern interpretations in acrylic. Lighter and less expensive than cast iron but still valuable fixtures. Very repairable.
Copper roll-top baths — specialist material requiring individual assessment.

What Can Be Repaired?

Enamel chips on cast iron — the most common repair request for roll-top baths. A single chip, usually from a dropped tap or fitting, leaving the bare metal exposed. Repairable to an excellent standard.
Acrylic chips and scratches — filled and colour-matched using acrylic repair compounds.
Full resurfacing — where the entire surface of the bath is worn, yellowed or has multiple chips, full resurfacing restores the bath to its original condition. Available in the original colour or any chosen colour.
Claw feet — cast iron claw feet can also be painted or touched up as part of a wider restoration.
