Colour matching is the most important and most skilled aspect of professional surface repair. Here is how we achieve an invisible result on surfaces of any colour and material.
The Challenge of Colour Matching
Every surface is unique — not just in its original colour but in how that colour has aged, faded, and been affected by cleaning products, UV exposure and use over time. Matching a repair to an aged surface requires matching not just the original colour but the aged version of that colour as it exists today.
Our Colour Library
We carry a comprehensive library of repair compounds covering thousands of standard colours across all major surface materials — granite types, quartz brands, laminate codes, bath colours, tile glaze colours, wood species and stains.
For standard colours — white baths, grey quartz, natural granite — we typically have an exact or very close match in stock. For unusual colours, we mix from a range of pigments and base compounds.
The Matching Process
On arrival, the technician observes the surface in natural light, selects the closest base compound and adjusts with pigments until the match is as close as possible. A small test application is made and allowed to cure before the full repair proceeds.
Gloss Matching
Colour is only half the match — the gloss level must also be correct. A polished granite surface, a satin bath, a matt laminate — each requires a different finishing technique to achieve the right surface sheen.
