Professional surface repair creates a new surface layer that needs to be treated with some care in the initial curing period and maintained properly thereafter. Following these guidelines will maximise the life of your repair.

Immediately After Repair (0–24 Hours)

Keep the area dry where possible
Repair materials need time to fully cure. While most repairs are touch-dry within an hour, full curing takes longer. Avoid immersing the repaired area in water for 24 hours where possible.
Do not apply cleaning products
Cleaning chemicals can affect repair materials before they reach full cure strength. Leave the repaired area alone for 48 hours before cleaning.
Avoid heavy contact
Do not place heavy objects on a worktop repair or sit on the edge of a bath repair for the first 24 hours.

Caring for Repaired Baths and Shower Trays

  • Use non-abrasive bathroom cleaners only — liquid or foam, not cream or powder
  • Clean with a soft cloth or sponge, not a scouring pad or abrasive cloth
  • Avoid bleach, descalers and acidic cleaners (including vinegar-based products)
  • Rinse and dry after use where practical to reduce limescale build-up
  • Do not use suction bath mats directly over a repair — suction pads create stress on the surface when removed
  • Do not leave the bath filled for extended periods in the first week

Caring for Repaired Worktops

  • Use a cutting board — do not cut directly on a repaired area
  • Use a trivet or heat pad — do not place hot pans on a repaired area
  • Clean with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach and acidic products
  • Do not use the repair area as a chopping surface

Caring for Repaired Tiles

  • Avoid cleaning the repaired area for 48 hours after repair
  • Use standard bathroom or kitchen tile cleaner — avoid cream or abrasive products
  • The repair area is sealed and water-resistant once cured

Caring for Repaired Floors

  • Avoid heavy foot traffic on the repair for 24 hours
  • Use felt pads under furniture legs to prevent future scratching
  • Clean with a damp mop using a pH-neutral floor cleaner
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or steam mops on repaired areas
