Coloured baths — avocado green, harvest gold, pink, burgundy, blue — were standard in UK bathrooms from the 1960s through to the 1990s. These baths are increasingly valued as period features, but finding matching repair compounds for unusual colours requires specialist knowledge.
The Challenge of Coloured Bath Repair
The difficulty with period coloured baths is colour matching. Avocado and harvest gold are not standard modern colours — we cannot match them from a contemporary colour chart. Instead, we mix from a range of pigments to replicate the specific faded, aged colour of your bath.
The colour of a coloured bath also changes with age — a 1975 avocado bath is not the same colour as the original. We match the aged colour as it exists today, not the original factory colour.
Colours We Regularly Repair
Avocado green — the most common request. Multiple shades of avocado, from yellow-green through to deep sage.
Harvest gold — warm yellow-gold tones.
Pink — from pale shell to deep rose.
Burgundy and wine — deep red tones.
Primrose yellow — pale yellow.
Blue — various blue tones from pale to dark.
Cost
