What Is a Composite Sink?
Composite granite sinks are manufactured by combining granite or quartz particles (typically 70–80%) with an acrylic or polyester resin binder. The resulting material is hard, non-porous and heat-resistant. It is available in a wide range of colours from black and anthracite through to white, grey, coffee and cream.
What Composite Sink Damage Can Be Repaired?
Chip repair — the most common type. Chips at the rim, around tap holes, or on the base of the sink are filled with colour-matched compound and polished to blend with the surrounding surface.
Crack repair — cracks in composite sinks are less common than chips but do occur. Repairable in most cases.
Colour fade and staining — composite sinks can fade or stain over time. Surface restoration is possible in some cases.
