Quartzite is a natural metamorphic stone — not to be confused with engineered quartz worktops. Natural quartzite is mined and cut into slabs, like granite or marble, and is prized for its dramatic veining and hardness. It is also repairable when chipped.
What Is Natural Quartzite?
Natural quartzite is formed when sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure, causing the quartz grains to recrystallise into a dense, hard stone. It is harder than marble and most granites, very scratch-resistant, and non-porous when properly sealed.
Repairing Natural Quartzite
Quartzite chip repair follows the same approach as granite repair — the void is filled with colour-matched resin compound, shaped flush and polished. The hardness of quartzite makes it one of the more durable worktop materials for repair longevity.
Popular quartzite types including Super White, Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, Sea Pearl and Taj Mahal are all within our repair capability. The significant veining variation in quartzite requires careful colour matching and veining replication.
Cost
A single quartzite chip repair: £95–£200. Send photos for a fixed price.
