Yes — in the vast majority of cases, a chipped sink can be repaired professionally, on-site, to an invisible or near-invisible standard. Here is what you need to know.
What Types of Sink Can Be Repaired?
Composite granite sinks — the most commonly repaired type. Chips in brands including Blanco Silgranit, Franke Fragranite, Schock Cristalite and all other composite brands are repairable using colour-matched compounds.
Ceramic and fireclay sinks — Belfast sinks, butler sinks and ceramic bowl sinks. Chips in the ceramic body repaired using specialist compounds.
Vitreous china basins — bathroom basins and pedestal sinks. Chips and cracks repairable.
Acrylic sinks — less common but repairable.
What About Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel sinks cannot be colour-matched in the way composite or ceramic sinks can. Surface scratches may be polished, but chips and dents in stainless steel are generally not invisibly repairable.
How Much Does Sink Chip Repair Cost?
A single chip repair on a composite or ceramic sink typically costs £85–£175. This compares to £150–£600 for a new sink plus fitting costs. Professional repair is almost always the more economical option.
